This half term in Brastyl 2 we will be exploring a lot of our maths work using money. Can your child recognise different coins? Do they understand what different coins are worth? Can they work out different ways of making amounts to 10p? If not, then it would be really helpful if you could practise at home. When the chidren understand that 1 coin can mean different amounts we will be counting in twos, fives and tens, thinking about how much more money one person has than another, working out how much more money a person would need to be able to purchase a particular item, and counting on to find the difference and work out change.
In Science we will be learning about light. Thank you for your responses to our Hop-tu-naa/fireworks homework to help us compare how celebrations change over time.
