The sun smiled briefly this week and we were able to get out into the garden. Gura mie mooar (as failt mooar da Stanley beg!) to the lught-thie Quayle for sourcing some straw bales as a growing medium for our experimental eco-gardening. As well as preparing our growing areas, one of the groups went on a nettle hunt to make some nutritious 'nettle tea' to add to our compost. We are looking forward to getting our seedlings started as soon as the cold snap has finally ended! Can you spot the chrysalis on the watering can? Sharp-eyed Logan did, and it is now under observation to find out what will emerge. We have been doing lots of work about shape and space this week, learning about simple grid references, drawing maps, learning positional vocabulary and giving and following movement instructions. Some of the children played a version of the game battleships -perhaps you could try this at home?
